The Granada Theatre North Cheam opened in September 1937 with the organist, Lloyd Thomas, performing a novelty piece on The Wurlitzer Theatre Organ (3 manuals, 8 Ranks) where he fitted The Building of the Theatre in Rhyme to a medley of tunes-of-the-day.

The Theatre closed as a cinema in October 1969 and was demolished to make way for a supermarket.  The site is now occupied by a Wetherspoon’s Public House.

The Wurlitzer Theatre Organ was sold when the theatre closed and remained for a while in an old railway goods shed in Burnham Market, Norfolk and is featured in the short video, A Tour of Preserved Organs Around East Anglia.  According to the Cinema Organ Society, the Burnham Market Wurlitzer Theatre Organ featured in this film is now in a private collection in Lymm, Cheshire.
