The theatre was opened in September 1937 and was equipped with a Wurlitzer Theatre Organ (3 manuals, 8 ranks with clarinet and vox) and full stage facilities.  Once again Donald Thorne played the Organ at the opening and fitted The Building of the Theatre in Rhyme film to a medley of tunes-of-the-day, as he had at the Granada Theatre North Chaem.

The theatre closed in 1968 and was converted into a Granada Social Club.  After the theatre  closed, the organ was sold and it is now in storage and being restored in Leicestershire.  Alas, I have no further information to offer about it.
